Pastor Emeritus David L Brown, Ph.D.

Brother Brown trusted Christ as Savior as a boy after a Sunday school teacher in a modernist church threw away the liberal curriculum and went through the Book of Romans with the class. As a result, at home, in his bedroom he called upon the name of the Lord Jesus and was saved.

Pastor Brown attended a secular university for a year, then, went on to Bible College and Seminary. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and Social Science, a Master’s in Theology and a Ph.D. in History.

He met Linda in the Baptist Youth Group of their town and they were married in 1969. They have three grown children, thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was called to pastor First Baptist Church in 1979 and served the Lord as Under Shepherd until January of 2024 when he retired. He was then bestowed the honorary title of Pastor Emeritus and continues to serve the Lord in the church where he can. His passion is to reach people for Christ and preach the Word (the King James Bible) so the Christians will grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. He continues to travel the country and world with his Bible display explaining the history and importance of the King James Bible.

His life’s verses are - Psalms 34:7-8 “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
